wanted to swim... but....
This is the route I planned to swim 3 times today: a straight path from the shore nearer to Rasa Sentosa to the bridge where I stood as I captured this image. One lap is approximately 420m, according to one lifeguard.

However, while swiming towards the bridge on my first lap, my fingers touched the sea bed. "Huh???"
The depth indicator shows that the sea level is at least 2m!I didn't even study geography at O level, but I dare reckon that this silly islet is the cause of my woes.

As the waves diffract around this islet, the longshore currents deposit sand when the diffracted currents meet. As a result, a sand bar is formed at the North of the islet. As such, a depth that should have been at least 2m during this low tide became:

And yes, I actually took the risk and brought my camera to the sand bar by swimming back stroke there.
Quite a distance from the beach.
Me and my silly anticsI should have suspected this earlier when saw a caucasian yelling and waving his arms from the waters. I might have swum out to rescue him or simply informed the lifeguard on duty, if he wasn't standing, that is... =P

If the sand bar isn't bad enough, there's still plenty of sea weed to deter me from swimming...

Instead, the training session turned out to be a sight seeing tour around Sentosa... haha..
