Nothing much to blog about these days. Have been preparing for my Thailand trip. Please pray for protection and safety because there has just been some bombings in Hat Yai where I'm supposed to go to.

emo-attached
My last day was friday. Ms Quek and I were so emo since thurs nite when we were chatting online. Guess it's because of the emotional attachment we have to our students.
We both wanted to take photos with our students on friday, but on friday, we both had difficulty saying goodbye and that it was our last day of work. However, difficult as it was, we had to bring things to proper closure and say goodbye. I took a number of pictures, which I shall not upload so as to save my students the trauma of seeing their faces on my blog.
I thoroughly enjoyed my term with the school; loved the students, found a new band of friends and treasured working with the teachers.
However, I guess it's time to move on... Time for a shift in focus as well as a time for reflection and relaxation... Will definitely meet up with my students and my new clique =)

I will be exalted in the earth."

fun science
We were given the opportunity to organise 2 events: 1 science station for the P6 visit and a Math and Science Day for the sec 3s... I really enjoyed myself and learnt many things school never taught me.... haha...
For the P6 school visit, we taught them to verify claims by advertisers...
Rich in vitamin C? Think again....
Test with DCPIP
Demonstration with explanation
Happy faces!
We also taught them how to suspend potato in salt water: upthrust = weight (of course never explain until so chem lah~!)The Math & Science day for the sec 3s was the climax of this temporary job! I thoroughly enjoyed organising the event with 7 other teachers.
We challenged them to think how to reduce/increase friction and air resistance through our flying fox competition..
ExplanationWe quizzed them on the periodic table...
Cool huh~! Rarely do you get such enthusiasm
Actually, they're enthu coz they want more water bombs.... (answer correctly? reward with water bomb)
Water bomb saga
unstoppableThey had to to special tasks as well...
We taught them to make a fountain of coke and challenged them to make the fountain as high as possible.

sailing on m'day
Went sailing last Sunday to celebrate mothers' day... It was rather relaxing and perhaps a tad too sleep-inducing as well. During the hands-on, I was taught how to steer the yacht according to wind direction towards the destination. I quickly got incredibly bored steering the yacht coz there was barely any wind and the vessel moved intolerably slowly... Thankfully for me, the captain took over... haha... Here are some pics...
The service provided by my sister's friend's company was really affordable. They even organise longer sailing trips to fish at a kelong and to Pulau Ubin for a meal. Interested people can look for me for the contact. =)

Mighty to Save!
Thank God that he is mighty to save.
Mighty to empower me.. I muz really acknowledge that I cannot rely on my carnal strength.. I need God's strength.
When I become proud and think that I can perform well on my own strength, I usually do worse...
Pride stinks.

Update
1. I want to chat
These days, most of the time I speak, it's to explain physics, math or chem. It's almost like I speak mathe instead of english... I need some heart warming conversations... lol~!
2. Busy
I've been really busy the last 2 weeks.. On most weekdays, it's work, driving lesson and then tuition, only allowing me to reach home past 11... And work has been rather hectic... I feel like a magnet for arrows...
3. enjoy work
Although I'm pretty overloaded, I really enjoy what I'm doing; so, despite my fatigue, I'm happy.. =)
4. Weekend!
Phew... It's finally Sat and I can take a breather... Need to settle some things for my mission trip that I have delayed settling way too long.
5. Other things to do
I'm leading BS, my cell is on duty to arrange chairs for service and I'm one of the 4 putting up a small item to thank mothers, all of which falls on tomorrow.....
oh well.. This is basically how my past weeks were like....
6. future matters
My last official workday at my current work place should be 18th May... 2 weeks more? yupz.. May go back in June before I leave for Thailand though.. ;)
