"We're 42 and we are proud to let the world to know it!" said the channel 5 narrator. I definitely think that was rightly said especially with our world's largest floating platform and new world record of 42 flying kites at the same time.
I loved it when Kit Chan sang "there's no place I'd rather be"... No matter where I've been, there's no other place I'd rather be...
I also love the finale, when the artistes sang "will you"... wow... I thought it was really apt... With the platform surrounded with water, the artistes sang "will you swim the current". And with the platform in the heart of the city, the lyrics went, "will you scale new heights"... It made me feel like rising up to the challenges of the future...
Will you swim the current Will you scale new heights Will you make it happen Will you let your dreams take flight?
And will you make a difference Will you seize the day Will you live each moment Will you dare to find new ways?
Making the difference and challenging the future takes a whole lot of resolve, creativity, shrewdness, good foresight, intelligence, risk management and the list goes on. For now, I'm proud of how far we've come, Singapore! Happy 42nd National Day! ;)
